Short Biography of Hugo de Vries
Short Biography of Hugo de Vries Hugo Marie de Vries was conceived on February 16, 1848, to Maria Everardina Reuvens and Djur Gerrit de Vries in Haarlem, The Netherlands. His dad was an attorney who later proceeded to fill in as the Prime Minister of The Netherlands during the 1870s. As a small kid, Hugo immediately found an adoration for plants and even won a few honors for his herbal science ventures while he went to class in Haarlem and The Hauge. de Vries chose to seek after a degree in plant science from Leiden University. While learning at the school, Hugo became fascinated by exploratory plant science and Charles Darwins Theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. He graduated in 1870 from Leiden University with a Doctorate in natural science. He instructed for a brief timeframe before going to Heidelberg University to consider Chemistry and Physics. Notwithstanding, that experience just kept going onlyâ about a semester before he headed out to Wurzberg to contemplate plant development. He returned to showing natural science, geography, and zoology in Amsterdam for quite a long while coming back to Wurzburg on his excursions to proceed with his work with plant development. Individual Life In 1875, Hugo de Vries moved to Germany where he worked and distributed his discoveries on plant development. It was while he was living there that he met and wedded Elisabeth Louise Egeling in 1878. They came back to Amsterdam where Hugo was employed as a speaker at the University of Amsterdam. It was not well before he was chosen as an individual from the Royal Academy of the Arts and Sciences. In 1881, he was given full residency in plant science. Hugo and Elisabeth had an aggregate of four kids - one girl and three children. History Hugo de Vries is most popular for his work in the field of hereditary qualities as the subject was in its alleged outset stages. Gregor Mendels discoveries were not notable at that point, and de Vries had concocted some fundamentally the same as information that could be assembled with Mendels laws to make an all the more completely created image of hereditary qualities. In 1889, Hugo de Vries guessed that his plants had what he called pangenes. Pangenes are what is currently known as qualities and they conveyed the hereditary data starting with one age then onto the next. In 1900, after Gregor Mendel distributed his discoveries from working with pea plants, de Vries saw that Mendel had found very similar things he had found in his plants as he composed his book. Since de Vries didn't have Gregor Mendels fill in as a beginning stage for his tests, he rather depended on works by Charles Darwin who conjectured how attributes were passed down from guardians to posterity a great many ages. Hugo concluded that the qualities were transmitted by means of a type of molecule that was given to the posterity by the guardians. This molecule was named a pangene and the name was later abbreviated by different researchers to simply quality. Notwithstanding finding qualities, de Vries additionally centered around how species changed as a result of those qualities. Despite the fact that his guides, while he was at University and worked in labs, didn't become tied up with the Theory of Evolution as composed by Darwin, Hugo was a major aficionado of Darwins work. His choice to consolidate the possibility of advancement and an adjustment in animal groups after some time into his own proposition for his doctorate was met with a great deal of obstruction by his teachers. He disregarded their supplications to expel that piece of his theory and effectively protected his thoughts. Hugo de Vries clarified that the species changed after some time in all likelihood through changes, which he called transformations, in qualities. He saw these distinctions in wild types of night primrose and utilized this as proof to demonstrate that species changed as Darwin stated, and presumably on an a lot faster course of events than what Darwin had speculated. He got celebrated in his life because of this hypothesis and upset the manner in which individuals pondered Darwins Theory of Evolution. Hugo de Vries resigned from dynamic instructing in 1918 and moved to his enormous bequest where he kept on working in his huge nursery and study the plants he developed there, thinking of various revelations he distributed. Hugo de Vries kicked the bucket on March 21, 1935, in Amsterdam.
Communication Diversity and the Human Services Worker
Correspondence Diversity and the Human Services Worker Correspondence Diversity and the Human Services Worker Presentation Compelling correspondence is something beyond passing data starting with one individual then onto the next, we impart both verbally and non-verbally (Howard 1991) what's more, we as a whole strive after contact that is significant. A communicator goes into associations with others (Gamble 2008). Sound correspondence is basic, we as a whole prefer to be esteemed and heard, and it is essential to all individuals from all features of life and in all areas of society (Bolton 1987, p. 4). Day by day, human administrations laborers experience an assorted scope of individuals, from partners to customers, experts, and people in general. Thusly, reacting suitably is essential for viable correspondence to happen. Correspondence is rarely unbiased (Tyler, Kossen Ryan 2005, p. 26) moreover, we build our reality see from our own perspective just as the perspective of the way of life or society that we possess (Tyler, Kossen Ryan). Subsequently, there can be obstructions to viable correspondence when class and low financial conditions are available. There is a propensity for Australians to look down on low-pay workers and those accepting government benefits. To approximately, a low-salary worker has less worth in light of the fact that the conviction is that they are non-supporters of the riches and development of Australian culture. While this happens less in the human administrations industry than when all is said in done, none the less it despite everything happens. Terms utilized inside the network, for example, give bludger have a negative undertone, and present troubles that sway in an unconstructive way on low pay workers who may as of now be feeling regretful about their failure to discover business. Thoughtless terms, names, and negative mentalities manufacture hatred, which has results that can stream on from customers to their families, regardless of whether from sick wellbeing, wrongdoing, family breakdowns, or medication and liquor issues. Inadequate correspondence causes a relational hole that is knowledgeable about all features of life and in all areas of societyeven passing outcomes when correspondence separates (Bolton 1987, p.4). Brood (1989, p. 239) states, Unless you are impacted by my uniqueness, Im not going to be affected by your recommendation accordingly, building successful passionate financial balances (Covey, p. 239) is significant for effective correspondence to happen. This paper will address gives that defy human administrations laborers and the difficulties they face when working with jobless individuals from low financial foundations. Circumstance Australia should be a libertarian culture yet progressively it is turning into a country of haves and those who lack wealth. The partition among rich and poor keeps on growing (Barrett, Crossley Worswick 1999; The Age 1999, refered to in Healey 2001). Delineation dependent on monetary and social position is turning into a piece of the Australian character (Hartley 2002). The achievement of some to the detriment of others has likewise observed developing hatred by those on government assistance who consider themselves to be casualties (The Weekend Australian 2000, p. 23, refered to in Healey 2001). Authority alludes to the prevailing classes upkeep of social and social control over others (OSullivan et al. 1983). It powers individuals to hand over their capacity either deliberately or unknowingly by making a force alliance (OSullivan, p. 102). Government offices, for example, Centrelink, work arrange focuses, and preparing foundations, which in principle are unbiased and are there to speaks to everyone regularly practice their capacity to accomplish concealed organization results. As the predominant monetary class, they care for the interests of the organization first and their customers needs frequently become auxiliary. Inconsistent force connections that impact the way where individuals speak with one another are anything but difficult to create and hard to disassemble. The trade among senders and collectors is a functioning experience where members often involve places of inconsistent force (Kress 1988, p15). Those on the less than desirable end feel reduced, unheard, and frequently cautious. Negative generalizations on the two sides are obligated to increment, and unavoidable outcomes and strife happens as a result of incapable correspondence. There is developing worry about government assistance reliance and the effect this is having on the economy. There is a move in government approach, the accentuation currently is that those on government assistance must acknowledge greater obligation regarding their financial conditions (Saunders 2005). Network administration laborers comprehend that support so as to lead a rich significant life inside the network it is important to have a solid confidence. They know that social prohibition and joblessness deny individuals the chance to partake (Saunders). Approach Perusing non-verbal communication, focusing on subtleties and clear viable correspondence require very much created abilities that human assistance laborers need to remember when working with customers. At the point when correspondence, the existence blood of each relationship (Bolton 1987, p. 6) is certain, it makes sustaining satisfying connections. As fifty-five percent of all correspondence comprises of non-verbal communication (Hargie Dickson 2004, p. 46), specific thoughtfulness regarding non-verbal relational abilities is required. Non-verbal correspondence, for example, a scoff, a feeling of distain, or non-verbal communication that is shut, imparts impassion, which can be as harming as a verbal encounter. As a human administrations specialist it is basic that the customers your there to help don't feel alienated by the organizations doled out to support them. Human help laborers must be aware of non-verbal conduct, their own and their customers on the grounds that non-verbal conduct frequently contains noteworthy, deluding, and undeclared messages (Baney 2004). How individuals dress, their stance, eye to eye connection and how they walk all pass on importance, and uncover to the eyewitness a bunch of data. Social contrasts need to require acknowledgment, contemplates show that African Americans and white Americans look in inverse ways when addressed (Hargie 2006), Indigenous Australians additionally keep away from eye to eye connection. Maintain a strategic distance from decisions in light of the fact that for customers to build up a sound self-idea, judgment doesn't need to be verbal to be experienced. Judgment is one of the significant barriers to fruitful correspondence (Rogers refered to in Bolton 1987, p.17). A great many people dread dismissal and the surest method to make it involved with individuals is through judgment and analysis. Our feeling of self creates through our collaborations with others, we are social creatures, and creating mindfulness is a significant advance in getting ourselves and others (Gamble 2008). Our self-idea and mental self view is regularly distorted and uneven, frequently how we see ourselves varies from how others see us. Our way of life instructs us to curb our sentiments, and numerous individuals are ignorant of what inwardly, is really happening within them (Bolton 1987). Another instructor might need to assist customers with keeping away from difficult feelings, yet passionate discharge urges recuperating procedures to happen (Geldard 1998, p. 50). A powerful guide has the ability to assist their customers with feeling what's going on inside them, by either understanding what the customer is verbally communicating, or transmitting by non-verbal communication. By helping customers whose non-verbal communication possibly passing on sentiments of insufficiency or mediocrity, a human administrations specialist, can bring to their customers consideration factors that their customers perhaps ignorant of, and thus the customer can start to address them. Human assistance laborers must know that offering guidance can make meddle iority complex (Bolton 1987, p. 22) and they should abstain from offering guidance but instead help customers to discover arrangements. How something is communicated modifies responses, and those with low confidence frequently anticipate analysis from others, and perhaps will add something extra to proclamations implying that was never there (Bolton 1987). Human help laborers can reflect emotions back to the speaker, and are in a situation to offer help that can and makes a distinction in people groups lives. Building confidence can mean the contrast among business and proceeding with joblessness for a customer, as a positive relationship exists between vocation advancement and the capacity to impart viably (Bolton 1987, Gamble 2008). Consequently, human administrations laborers are required to have aptitudes that go past those of fundamental correspondence. Tuning in, declaration, compromise, and shared critical thinking abilities (Bolton 1987) are qualities that help specialists effectively arrange relational correspondence. As Bolton says low-level correspondence, prompts incapability, both at work and in close to home correspondence, thus by creating successful intercommunication aptitudes it will prompt expanded capability in all everyday issues. Listening abilities are required for effective correspondence, rewording tells the audience that you comprehend what the speaker has said. It permits the audience to grasp the setting of what the speaker stated, and in this way the speaker realizes understanding has been accomplished. Relational abilities require sympathy and validity and need to assert and approve people groups encounters (Kenny, 1994). Going to abilities, following aptitudes and intelligent aptitudes (Bolton 1987) are every one of the a piece of tuning in and permit the audience to show an away from of what the speaker has passed on. Listening permits an advocate to bring to the consideration of customers the negative self-talk they may utilize. Customers would then be able to defeat hindrances and make for themselves work openings recently denied with information, new abilities, and comprehension. End Human help laborers are at the front line in growing new projects planned for expanding interest inside the workforce. They are working for government and occupation organize age

When East Met West Wong Kar Waiââ¬â¢s In the Mood for Love as an Influence on Sofia Coppolaââ¬â¢s Lost in Translation - Literature Essay Samples
The quietly devastating works of Wong Kar-wai, the auteur from the east, have influenced the filmography of contemporary American directors, including Sofia Coppola. In the Mood for Love, in particular, is a reigning force of this influence. The resonance of Kar-waiââ¬â¢s tiring fixation on the worn and ordinary, and his dependence on a limited, but warm color palate to create both a tranquilizing calmness and urgency in fashioning the worlds in his films, creates an aesthetic that carries a depth without ever appearing contrived, and holds an indelible presence in the visual style and camerawork of Coppolaââ¬â¢s Lost in Translation. As a viewer, being able to discriminate and identify this influence is a testament to the nature of cinema as an organic collective of works that are not limited by or characteristic of the lands or culture (for example, East versus West) in which they are produced; theyââ¬â¢re alive and ever-changing. Even though both films maintain a character driven narrative and isolate their two lead protagonists into warm frames of open composition that oversee moments of personal discussion between them, in atmospheres reiterating a gloomy warmth and comfort that allows them to grow closer despite the troubles that quell them, the narratives of the two films couldnââ¬â¢t be more dissimilar; the former follows Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chen, two neighbors who have to come to terms with the knowledge that their spouses are having an affair with each other, a process that eventually fosters a romance between the two that they wearily brush aside, afraid of being no different or better than their partners. Lost in Translation, on the other hand, is a story of a week-long friendship that blossoms between Bob, an aging actor who has outgrown the hassles of his famed lifestyle, and Charlotte, a young woman who doubts her marriage and is search of a purpose, after they find each other on the foreign soil s of a Tokyo Hotel and regularly begin to meet downstairs for a drink or two. The characters of Coppla and Kar Waiââ¬â¢s abovementioned works reside in two of some of the most densely populated cities in the world, an attribute of the films settings that is constantly reiterated through establishing shots that find their respective characters wandering amidst hordes of crowds, starkly juxtaposing the sense of loneliness that prevails their narratives. However, interior shots filmed within the confines of domestic locales, such as the tight, narrow apartment building that serves as Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chanââ¬â¢s apartment building, or the hotel bar where Bob and Charlotte meet by chance for a drink, are approached with very similar compositions in regards to the way the characters are staged and shot on set in respect to the individuals they speak to; when Mr. Chow knocks on the Chenââ¬â¢s apartment door to have a word with his neighbor, we are denied a complete inspection of Mrs. Chenââ¬â¢s husband, and instead presented with a long, tight, close-up on Mr. Chow as he chats away in the narrow hallway of the building. In this scene, a disregard to the visual inclusion of the man his wife is sleeping with serves to reinforce his depiction as a someone, who is, in all totality, alone and by himself, a feeling perpetuated by the rejection that must swell within any man in his place. Coppolaââ¬â¢s approach is somewhat more inclusive of the other characters that Bob, one of the two lead protagonists, speaks to; in the opening act, Bob is at the bar with a cigar in his hand a drink by his side, lost in his own thoughts, and content with the escape this setting provides from the agents and fans that tail his every step, however, gradually, the voice of two men in front of him grow audible and declare that they recognize him as ââ¬ËThe Bob Harrisââ¬â¢, the big Hollywood star everybody knows and recognizes. Coppola doesnââ¬â¢t break the frame by incorporating the sources of these voices. She is patient, and allows Bobââ¬â¢s disconcerted reception of this recognition to germinate. Bob initially feigns an indifference to these voices, before eventually giving in and responding with a forced halfhearted, but polite reply, which is also when Coppola pans across to the men to allow us to register their faces. There is a reason why Coppola afforded this lenie ncy in the presentation of these men, one that escaped Kar-wai; in simple words, these men were just fans, and didnââ¬â¢t sleep with Bobââ¬â¢s wife. Their visual exclusion would have treated them with a greater relevance and weight than they demand. The man who is having an affair with Mr. Chowââ¬â¢s wife, however, understandably occupies a deeper role in Chowââ¬â¢s narrative, and warrants a treatment that demonstrates a greater role in illustrating Chowââ¬â¢s sense of loneliness. Notwithstanding the nature of the narrative or characters presented in Todd Hayneââ¬â¢s Carol, the same visual cues, composition, and organic, grainy texture have been employed in the presentation of the protagonists in their interaction with other characters. Consider the following scene, where Carol occupies the center of the frame in a long take, as the more alluring of the two women, confidentially navigating their talks while her counterpart is reduced to a silhouette before her. This overt display of prioritizing focus on one lead at a time may be difficult to establish as an influence of the aforementioned films, but an understanding of how they interplay in Lost in Translation and In the Mood for Love gives greater weight to their employment in works such as Carol, especially when the filmmakers involved in Carol too havenââ¬â¢t swayed away from discussing the role of Kaw-wai in shaping their works. A viewing of In the Mood for Love, Lost in Translation and Carol is perhaps a class in itself for one who feels the need to understand the influence that films borne out of different cultures and filmmakers have on something made worlds away. It is challenging to summarize the extent of such influences through a dependence on a comparison of few scenes alone, and the importance of being able to see them in totality, if not to simply experience them for the art they are, cannot be stressed enough.

Preparation for Pregnancy Essay - 550 Words
Preparation for Pregnancy (Essay Sample) Content: PREPARATION FOR PREGNANCYMany at times people view pregnancy as an event that does not need to be discussed. Pregnancy makes a woman very delicate hence it should be well planned for. The following are among the relevant preparations necessary prior to a pregnancy. To begin with, women who are on contraceptives should stop taking contraceptives. This also provides enough time for the body to recover its normal hormonal balance. Examples of foods that can help speed up recovery of the body include kales, cabbages and other green leafy vegetables which contain high amounts of magnesium that aid in hormonal balance.Secondly, women of reproductive age (age 12-45 years) undergo menstruation which leads to loss of blood. Iron supplementation before pregnancy will help provide the much needed iron for the formation of red blood cells in the body of the fetus. Lack of enough iron in the motherà ¢Ã¢â ¬s body makes the infant and the mother prone to anemia. During delivery, enough iron in the motherà ¢Ã¢â ¬s body prevents her from hemorrhage.ÃâThirdly, folic acid supplementation is very vital for the growth of the fetus. What Are the Salient Features of Blakeââ¬â¢s Poetry - 843 Words
What are the salient features of Blakeââ¬â¢s poetry? Of all the romantic poets of the eighteenth century, William Blake (1757-1827) is the most independent and the most original. In his earliest work, written when he was scarcely more than a child, he seems to go back to the Elizabethan song writers for his models; but for the greater part of his life he was the poet of inspiration alone, following no manââ¬â¢s lead, and obeying no voice but that which he heard in his own mystic soul. Though the most extraordinary literary genius of his age, he had practically no influence upon it. Indeed, we hardly yet understand this poet of pure fancy, this mystic this transcendental madman, who remained to the end of his busy life and incomprehensibleâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Look long and you will see that every jewel has its place, and the casket within and without is itself an image of something yet more beautiful and emits rays of light brighter than the sun at noon tide. He found symbol as the best media to deliver his complex visions and his exploring mind was readily supplied with a host of symbols. He chose it from nature, universe, constellations and the world of God or the spiritual world. Thus he dressed god, goddesses, angels and flowers for his own poetic purpose and associated his ideals with them. The essence of Blakeââ¬â¢s vision is normally pastoral with a Christian emphasis. In Poetical Sketches even ships are sheep and stars are angels. The imagery of pastoralism includes animals; but animals are wild as well as mild and the idyllic scenes of innocence suggest the latter. In other words, the vision darkens from idyllic reverie to observation of natural fact in course of his development of thought. The parents are responsible for the future of their kids; they should take action early in securing a healthy future for them. This can be done requiring all students in school to be part of some sort of sport in school or outside; like a recreational league. Itââ¬â¢s up to the parents to take responsibility for this and make sure their kids are active in sports. Liberal and Radical Approaches in Zambia - 1744 Words
The main argument of this essay is to compare and contrast the liberal and radical approaches to social change. It is also necessary to point out that I have taken a stand on agreeing that the liberal approach takes a crediblestance in explaining the prevailing circumstances in Zambia. In this essay I will explain how this is and compare and contrast it with the radical approach. Social change refers to an alteration in the social orderâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦W. Rostow, he identified six stages in the development of human society. This is how Rostow looks at social change in human societywere he places emphasis in consciousness or human intelligence as the main prime mover of development and social change. Cultural aspects of a traditional society, according to Rostow, are the major inhibiting factors to social change and development. These are the views that consider problems of development to be largely internal and often look for their resolutions through external intrusion of progressive culture, values and physical capital- hence Rostowââ¬â¢s stages of economic growth. A very good example of liberalization in Zambia would be the privatization of companies by selling them to private entities. This was basically done so that the government was not at liberty to set market prices, instead the prices would be set by natural economic forces. The radical approach on the other hand is a theory that advocates on the abolition of capitalism. Its main assumptions are derived from the arguments raised by its proponents, Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels, at a time when capitalism in Europe had developed to a stage when it created a lot of poverty and suffering to the working class and other inferior classes of the capitalist system. Critical Personal Learning Styles Impact On Practice Development
Question: Discuss About The Styles And Impact On Practice Development? Answer: Introduction: The process of learning occurs by different methods or styles in a group of individuals [Banu et al, 2014]. Knowledge is acquired by different individuals by specific styles of learning [Banu et al, 2014].The various skills and attitudes that are adapted or attained by learning essentially occur by means of different learning styles amongst individuals [Banu et al, 2014].A style of learning was defined by Keefe in 1987 as a combination of individual characters of cognitive, physiological, and affective factors or characteristics [Banu et al, 2014]. These factors are typically described to serve as indicators that have relative stability and the perception of the learner about the interactions and the individual response to the environment of learning [Banu et al, 2014].Keefe additionally observed that when these styles of learning amongst a group of students is assessed by facilitators of learning or professors, the student is inclined to learn better [Banu et al, 2014]. According to David Kolb, has noted that the creation of knowledge occurs through the transitions occurring in experience [Banu et al, 2014; Salehi, 2007].Each experience of a novel nature leads to a certain amount of learning in an individual [Banu et al, 2014; Salehi, 2007]. Research has indicated that the experience of learning is largely improvised when the motivation of students is done by adapting to their preferred style of learning [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012; Miller, 2001]. Learning styles essentially reflect the qualities of a person that affect the way in which one grasps information presented to them [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012]. The learning style additionally impacts the interaction of the individual with the learning environment, peer group, instructors, or information providers [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012].The different types of learners find different methods of information provision effective in learning or acquiring the knowledge [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012]. The broad division of learners based on their learning styles includes: visual or multimodal style of learning, sensing style of learning, verbal learning style, learning style of an active nature, and sequential style of learning [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012]. The style of sensing usually includes an intuitive or sensory method for information procurement such as by means of concept, innovation, theoretical, practical, or real-life examples [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012]. The visual or multimodal style includes visual information sources like pictures, flow-charts or diagrams, the verbal style includes learning by listening to others, active learning occurs by participation or thinking about the information, and the sequential style of learning involves the acquisition of information in organised or hierarchical steps [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012]. The students of nursing have different styles of learning and it is important for the instructors to identify and adapt their methods of instruction to their style [Katsioloudis and Fantz, 2012]. The VARK analysis tool is especially useful for the identification of the style. The acronym VARK expands to visual, aural, read/write, and kinaesthetic styles[Leite et al, 2009]. The preference of each student is different and the effectiveness of learning largely increases when the student is exposed to that particular style [Leite et al, 2009]. Discussion of learning styles with literature review: Nursing as a profession has a considerable amount of dependence on practice [Tichelaar, et al, course material from Turku University of Applied Sciences, 2013]. The quality of nursing and learning of clinical practice inclusive of the nursing environment has a significant impact on the nursing students and their instructors [Tichelaar, et al, course material from Turku University of Applied Sciences, 2013]. The experience of nursing education draws heavily from the identification of the style of learning [Tichelaar, et al, course material from Turku University of Applied Sciences, 2013]. The experience in the clinical setting is essential for the development of learning that the nursing students acquire during their education and clinical practice [Tichelaar, et al, course material from Turku University of Applied Sciences, 2013]. Instructors are required to provide the appropriate assistance, guidance, and information based on the preferred learning style in the individual students of nursing [Tichelaar, et al, course material from Turku University of Applied Sciences, 2013]. The environment of nursing has developed into a highly technological atmosphere in the recent times [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. There is a high degree of autonomy in the nursing staff in the current clinical settings [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. The increasing complexity in the divisions and the diagnoses, the complexity of adaptation to the clinical environment increases for the nursing students and practice nurses [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007].The concepts of style of cognition and learning are essentially synonymous in definition [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. The description of learning style was formulated by David Kolb in 1984 and he has divided the styles of learning into four primary divisions: assimilator, converger, accommodator, and diverger[Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. In literature, the definitions of learning styles have changed effectively over time. The definition provided by Honey and Mumford in 1986 and 1992 respectively have divided learning styles into: reflector, activists, pr agmatists, and theorists [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. Learning styles have been researched widely in nursing education and practice over several years [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007].Research has extensively studied the students of nursing in order to adapt a style of learning [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. Research has found that the reflective style of learning is found predominantly amongst the students of nursing [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. Research has additionally indicated that most students and nursing practitioners have well-defined and concrete preferences in the style of learning [Rassool and Rawaf, 2007]. Personal learning styles (VARK) and preferred learning style: In the recent times, the VARK tool for the assessment of personal learning styles amongst nursing students has gained immense popularity [Leite et al, 2009]. The VARK is an inventory of four primary styles of learning: visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic [Leite et al, 2009]. The VARK tool uses a specific questionnaire that includes leading questions with preferred options for information acquisition [Leite et al, 2009]. Based on the responses provided by the individual, their personal VARK style of learning is indicated [Leite et al, 2009]. These questions are in the form of small-scale tests that suggest the method of learning for each individual [Leite et al, 2009]. The options provided describe each learning style preference in detail [Leite et al, 2009]. The VARK scale has been found to have a satisfactory level of consistency in the results obtained [Leite et al, 2009]. Potential concerns with the word-choice of the items and the algorithm format of the scale used for sco ring were identified in the VARK scale [Leite et al, 2009].These concerns have to be identified and analyzed [Leite et al, 2009].The visual style is described as the style of learning that prefers visual depiction of information using graphs, charts, maps, flow-charts, or diagrams [Leite et al, 2009]. The aural or auditory mode has a perception-based preference [Leite et al, 2009]. These learners prefer listening to discussions, lectures, informatory talks, or chat sessions [Leite et al, 2009]. The read/write style includes the ability to write and read information extensively. The kinesthetic style involves active participation in the learning process. These learners prefer to experience or practice the information in a practical setting [Leite et al, 2009]. I have identified that my preferred style of learning according to the VARK questionnaire response analysis is the multimodal style of learning. The multimodal style is a combination of the visual and the read/write strategy. This essentially makes me a learner who prefers the visual as well as the reading and writing of information for learning. Therefore, my preference indicates that I can learn the best with the help of visual aids and graphical representations of information such as maps, graphs, diagrams etc. Additionally, I have an ability to write well and read information that is documented in great technical detail [Leite et al, 2009]. Learning environment and staff mix: My learning environment is a hospital setting and has real-time patients in the hospital purview. The staff mix is, in fact, quite diverse and includes experienced nurses who have an approximate of 15 years of experience as registered nurses, a mentor with about 20 years of nursing experience, a few mentees who are furst-year students of nursing, and practice nurses with about 1 or 2 years additional experience as compared with my experience. I believe that my learning environment is challenging and fast-paced. The environment for learning provides several challenges to me as the majority of the staff mix has higher experience than I do, which increases my anxiety in several occasions. I feel challenged during several patient encounters and emergencies where the others in the group are usually aware of the necessary steps to be taken. Not much is expected from the student group due to which I feel singled out and anxious to contribute to the care protocol. Most practical situations r equire that we learn by observing others and make urgent notes, or pick up information from our brief encounters with the patient and the physicians. I find this situation challenging as there are not many opportunities for reading and writing information along with the lack of opportunity to access visual information formats during emergencies and practical patient care situations. Strengths and weaknesses of the preferred learning style in the environment: The styles of learning have a significant role to play in the effectiveness of nursing practice. My preferred style as indicated by the VARK scale is the multimodal style of learning. I have found that my learning environment poses several situations that require practical learning and experiencing the patient situation first-hand. I find that the most noteworthy disadvantage of the multimodal style of learning is that the hospital situation requires a more kinesthetic approach. I believe that there is an urgent need to train myself to adapt a slightly kinesthetic and aural approach in learning. The primary reason for this is that most of my interactions with physicians and patients is verbal. The information that I procure from them is verbal in nature and it requires a high amount of concentration. On the other hand, the advantage of the multimodal style of learning is that my reading and writing abilities are strong and this provides an edge in terms of academic and sound theoretical knowledge. I find that it allows me to understand the physiological and pathological basis for the treatment plan. I have an ability to grasp information through various diagrams, maps, flow-charts, and graphs. The multimodal style of learning has facilitated the amount of technical knowledge gained over the years. The multimodal style of learning has a considerable number of strengths and weaknesses. I believe that along with the understanding that the multimodal style provides, it is essential to develop the other two styles of learning namely the aural and the kinesthetic approach. In the staff mix that I am associated with, there is a strong need for quick and accurate learning and execution which needs to be addressed by adequate improvement of the preferred learning style. Conclusion: Nursing is a profession that is closely associated with practice and involves a considerable extent of practical learning. Learning styles have been long studied, especially in nursing students. The effectiveness of learning and information acquisition is enhanced when the mentors and instructors of students of nursing education make the information more accessible to the students through their preferred style of learning. Each individual has a preferred style of learning and it is most often identifiable and concrete. The adaptation of the instructor to the preferred style of learning greatly enhances the effectiveness of the information transfer. Literature has several divisions and considerations for learning styles. There are several studies in literature that divide the learning style of individuals. The VARK tool for the assessment of learning style is one of the most widely used, recent tools. The adaptation of learning styles to the learning environment is an essential way to learn in a clinical practice setting. The concept of learning style is therefore one of the most prominent and noteworthy aspects of nursing education and practice. Marketing Analysis of Tesla
Question: Discuss about theMarketing Analysis of Tesla. Answer: Introduction Tesla Motors was founded in 2003 as a California Startup by a group of Silicon Valley engineers who wanted to promote sustainable electric cars. The electric cars would be better than the gasoline powered cars as they will have instant torque, high power and contribute to minimal environmental pollution. Although at present the cost of the electric cars is high, the next generations of the electric cars will become more and more affordable. The ultimate goal of the company is to provide sustainable medium of transportation without compromising on the product quality and consumer experience. As a result, Tesla has conducted several experiments in terms of design and style of the manufactured cars. These electric cars are excellent transportation medium without any negative impact on the environment. Initially, the company designed a powertrain which was built around an AC induction motor (Hardman, Shiu and Steinberger-Wilckens, 2015). The name of the company is based on the inventor N ikola Tesla, who patented this technology in 1888. In 2008, Tesla Roadster was launched which can accelerate at a very speed in few seconds and travel to a range of 245 miles per charge of the battery. In 2012, the Tesla launched a four wheeler based on the same technology. The Model S sedan was the first electric sedan car completely driven by electric power. The electric car consumers can easily charge their cars at home without the need of visiting a gas station every time their vehicle runs out of gasoline. In long distance routes, the company has established a network of superchargers which cover half of the main routes in the USA, Europe and Asia Pacific. It has manufacturing plants in the USA and Netherlands (Tesla, 2017). It is an innovative organization focused on energy conservation. Tesla has attracted a large number of customers who are environmentally-conscious. In this regard, in this report, the marketing strategy of the company, its main customers and suppliers and the competitors have been examined. Marketing Background of the Company Tesla is a sustainable auto maker and electric car company. It comes under the automobile industry and its major competitors are the leading automakers such as General Motors and Toyota. The ultimate mission of the company is to increase the popularity of electric vehicles. Precisely, it strives to offer the customers sustainable transportation mediums without sacrificing the associated comfort of the cars. It targets the market of the affluent customers who are willing to pay large down payment. It includes the upper class business executives who are willing to experiment with new products and pay premium price for them. The Tesla Roadster was focused on the customers who were looking for luxury sports car. This customer segment is also predominated by the male population. It mainly focuses on the customers who are conscious about the emission patterns of their vehicle. It allows zero environmental emission without sacrificing the quality and the performance of the traditional vehic les (Karamitsios, 2013). In the recent years, Tesla has come under the leading luxury automobile manufacturers across the globe due to its unique marketing strategy and product offering. It is a vertical manufacturer which means that it directly manufactures and sells the products to its customers. The company has several showrooms at popular shopping malls; however, the customers can only enrich their information regarding the electric cars, they have to make the purchase directly online. It helps in keeping the expenditure of the company low and creating unnecessary risk by increasing inventory (Birk, 2015). It is a catalyst in personal transportation and developing disruptive and breakthrough technology in the automobile sector. Tesla has increased the market demand for luxury zero-emission vehicles and also joined hands with other automobile manufacturers to increase the number of production lines. The cars manufactured by the company are solely driven by the electric batteries. As it is innovative technology, the company has to work with several suppliers who do not traditionally work with the automobile manufacturers. Therefore, Tesla has collaborated with large automobile companies to keep the economy of sales low (Supply Chain 247). Analysis of the Current Main Products, Services, Suppliers and Customers The first car of the company Tesla Roadster was launched in 2008, and since then the company has sold a large number of electric cars all across the globe. It is an electric sports car which runs on the lithium-ion batteries. In 2010, the company launched its vehicle in the UK and Ireland. The United States is the leading market for the electric cars. It is the second largest electric car manufacturer after Renault-Nissan Alliance. Recently, the Model S of the company has become the most popular vehicle driven by electric power. It is highly widespread and became the first ever car to top the sales list of any country. It has adopted a unique sales model wherein the customers are provided after sales services to all the customers. As it is a small company, it suffers from budget constraints. In order to keep the economy of scale minimal, it has reduced the inventory requirements (Tansel, 2016.). The company manufactures the cars after receiving the orders from the customers. It contr ols the expenditure of the company; however, the customers have to wait for a long time before delivery takes place. In its sales model, the company has developed a large number of stores and galleries at the busiest markets and shopping malls. These stores work as showroom for the company where the customers learn about the company and its vehicles. The interactive display at the companys stores is focused on four major themes, namely, safety, electric motor, charging network and autopilot feature. The sales model of the company is very different from the standard model adopted by the automobile companies. It is the only car manufacturing companies that sells the cars through online mediums without any middle man or dealer. The company targets the affluent customers as the cost of these cars in high (Carlson, 2013). Recently, Tesla is conducting experiments with the technology to decrease the model cost, increase the customer outreach and penetrate the target markets. In Australia, the first showroom of the company was opened in 2010 in Sydney. Subsequently, stores and service centers were opened in Melbourne and Richmond. Marketing Strategies of the Company Although Tesla is a small car manufacturer, it has adopted several unique marketing approaches to establish its presence in market. In the following section, the marketing mix of the company in terms of pricing, promotion and distribution are discussed. Pricing Strategy: Tesla has entered the markets as a mass producer of the electric vehicles which has given it a competitive advantage in terms of pricing. It has adopted the premium pricing strategy according to the target customers. As it is a disruptive technology, and the wealthy customers are more willing to experiment with new products, it has selected the affluent customers as its target base. In regard to the prices, the models of the company rival the companies such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi. It focuses on adopting the value based price model. Accordingly, the company provides all the luxuries of a traditional car and is environmental-friendly (Ferrell Hartline, 2013). Moreover, although the initial price of the cars is high, the customers save on the gasoline prices. Recently, the company has adopted a pricing strategy to lower the cost of its existing car models and launching new models to increase the customer base. It is focusing on tapping the mass market and prod ucing cars at large volume to increase its revenue (WN, 2016). Promotion Strategy: Tesla Motors has implemented several promotional strategies to engage the potential owners. It uses the combination of events, online promotion and broadcast media for advertising. In its promotional strategy, the company focuses on different target customers irrespective of their age or income. Their advertisement focuses on the efficiency and the benefit of the electric car (Fifield, 2012). The events are also effective in promoting the companys products. It also organizes events in art galleries, hotels and restaurants to enhance the knowledge of the people regarding the electric cars and creating a stress-free environment which leads to the customer decision. Today, online mediums are also critical in the promotion of the products. The website of the company contains large number of incentives and plans to attract the prospective customers. Other than that, the company also uses the YouTube videos, blogs and social media in its promotional strategy (Pride Fer rell, 2016). Distribution Strategy: Tesla motors are growing at a phenomenal pace and over the years, expanded its operations in several places in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. It is also focusing on expanding the product range and reducing the cost of the automobile to become more available for the mainstream customers. Since it is a small automobile company, it controls its expenditure by manufacturing cars only upon orders (Fifield, 2008). It has several stores and service centers at the busiest locations; however, the customers can only gain knowledge regarding the company and its models from there. This strategy has increased the sales of the company as the customers having no-to-little knowledge of electric cars learn the benefits of owning an electric car. Tesla has also adopted the strategy of opening their stores at shopping malls so that the customers coming to buy clothes or watching movies also learn about the new cars. Tesla has also observed that these people become the potential customers of the company (Hoffmann Coste-Manire, 2012). Comparison of the Marketing Mix to the Competitors Major Competitors Since the market for the mass-produced electric vehicles is new and emerging, the company has very few competitors in this domain. However, the luxury car-makers such as BMW, Audi and Toyota are the major competitors of the company. Renault-Nissan Alliance is also a major competitor of the company as they are investing heavily in battery-powered cars. BYD e6, a Chinese manufacturer is likely to become the largest selling electric car in future. BMW is also focusing on battery development for the electric vehicles. The motto of the company is not to sell the best electric car in the industry but the best car in the industry. Therefore, it focuses on developing best electric cars with all the features. As the company targets the premium and rich customers, the luxury brands are the major competitors of the company (Great Speculation, 2016). Marketing Mix of Competitors The major luxury car brands provide hybrid models rather than complete electric car models. Therefore, Tesla remains in competitive advantage to attract those customers who are environmentally conscious. Moreover, these companies distribute the cars with the traditional distribution model. Accordingly, the customers enter the distribution centers when they are in the need of buying cars. However, Tesla has created service centers and shops in shopping malls so that the people came to buy clothes can also learn about their product. These individuals can convert into potential leads (Viardot, 2004). While comparing the marketing mix of the company with other electric cars manufacturing companies, Tesla has several competitive advantages. For instance, it provides the supercharging facilities which are far superior to the charging facilities offered by other companies. The customers are also attracted towards the models of the company due to their clear pricing system and no pressure sales system. The customers can easily navigate the showrooms; learn about the system and the new cars, without any pressure of buying the models. Moreover, the company has adopted a non-negotiable, transparent and clear pricing system which makes the customers comfortable. Recommendations and Conclusion Due to the image of the electric cars, their low performance and high prices, the customers avoid buying these cars. However, Tesla has made several efforts to change the image of the electric cars and promote its sales. The company not only strives to create the best electric car but the best cars in the industry. It has focused its research on the development of low-cost batteries to reduce the prices of the cars. It has developed an innovative technology and competing with large auto makers such as Toyota, Ford and Mercedes with their electric cars. As the company is new and suffers from budget constraints, it has adopted several strategies to control their expenditure and increase outreach to the maximum customers. It involves opening up of outlets at shopping malls and busy locations. It offers direct connect to the customers and they can learn about new the company and the profits of purchasing the electric cars. Initially, the company also focused on adopting the premium prici ng strategy wherein the affluent and the rich customers are targeted. These customers are more willing to experiment with the products and have the budget to buy high cost cars. In its promotional strategy, the company used the combination of online medium and broadcast media. The company did not focus on a single target customer base and in its broadcast message elaborate the qualities and the benefits of the electric cars. Moreover, the company has also adopted an innovative distribution model wherein it only manufactures the product after getting orders from the customers. It reduces the cost of the company. In the following section, several recommendations are made so that the company can extend their marketing mix to large customer base. Product: Tesla offers exclusive cars which are driven only by the electric power. The core competency of the company is its environmental-friendly product. Moreover, the consumers can also reduce the cost of fuel after buying these cars. However, it can extend the product range by offering electric two wheelers and low cost product range. In its low cost series, the company can reduce the features of the cars. Pricing strategy: Currently, Tesla has limited customers due to the high cost of the electric cars. In order to increase the customer base, the company can reduce the cost of the cars. The low cost range should be capable of driving solely with electric energy; however, the features of these cars should be limited. Distribution: It can be deduced that several customers might avoid buying the electric cars due to the long waiting period after booking the cars. In this regard, the companies should keep few cars in inventory so that the customers with urgent needs can be addressed easily. Since the cars are manufactured after the order of the customers, the company should also offer the option of customizing the cars according to the needs or preferences of the customers. Promotion: In its promotional strategy, Tesla should also focus on connecting the customers through social media. It can examine the reaction of the customers towards the new product launch with social media websites and customize the products accordingly. Moreover, as the electric cars are brought by the business executives and managers of the business organizations, it can also strike deals with the business organizations and government agencies to increase its services (Doole and Lowe 2008). The Truth about Lying free essay sample
A study of deception focusing on sexual and criminal misrepresentation. This essay uses a number of well researched case studies to explore individuals who pose or represent themselves as characters other than themselves. It also discusses how those around them are willing to believe often ridiculous claims if it is beneficial to them. The case studies include carefully calculated deceptions, self-delusional fantasies and blatantly criminal representations driven by damaged self esteem. From the Paper: The comedian Robin Williams once said, Ive investigated reality, and theres really nothing to it. While this is just another glib comment in that wild comics repertoire, the remark certainly applies to three items used in comparison in this essay. For the cord that ties Garfinkels Story of Agnes, Carreres downright bizarre account of the true story of Jean-Claude Romand, Baudrillards views on hyper-reality, and the personal ad placed by the blue-eyed blonde, all focus not just on the issue of deception itself, but on the self-perception of the individual, societys perception of the individual, and how (and to what extent) some people base their sense of reality on a faade in order to placate their own egos and/or society itself. An Expository Essay Introduction Sample Will Help You Create an Effective Essay
An Expository Essay Introduction Sample Will Help You Create an Effective EssayAn expository essay introduction sample is a standard resource that provides a foundation for those who want to write essays for college or professional school. The introduction to an essay is a foundational part of the entire paper, and it does not require that you know much about writing. The introduction itself may very well have some of the most important elements of the essay. Most people who do not know a lot about writing think that an expository essay introduction sample is an essay on its own. However, these samples are usually only three or four pages long, so you can put in just as much detail as you need to, but without the need to write a full, five-page essay. An expository essay introduction sample usually has one central idea, and that is what drives everything else in the essay. For example, an expository essay introduction sample might contain the concept of the United States Constitution. It might also contain a list of people who wrote the Declaration of Independence and possibly include a list of notable people who made up the United States Congress. This makes it easy for you to get your point across in a brief, concise way.If you are looking for some helpful tips for writing an expository essay introduction sample, you can find plenty of help on the internet, with tutorials that can give you tips and ideas to use when you're first creating your essay. In addition, you can find many other helpful guides online. You can use any of these to get an idea of how other people do it.An expository essay introduction sample can also be helpful because they often contain the information needed to do an argument. For example, a good expository essay introduction sample will show you that a certain fact is true, but also provide information that can show why it is true. For example, a sample might provide reasons why the United States Constitution is necessary or lists the be nefits of having a state religion.Another aspect that you should look for when looking for a sample is the format of the essay. A sample that is written in a paragraph format will probably not work, because paragraphs are not allowed in some of the more advanced essays that will be required of you in college. Because of this, you should look for a sample that is written in a formal style. Finally, make sure that you ask the writer if he or she is willing to publish the essay. If the essay was provided to you by the person who wrote it, chances are that the writer will give you permission to use the sample as you see fit. If the writer won't, or if the sample does not include the writer's name, it might be time to contact someone else.Creating an expository essay introduction sample is a lot easier than you might think. If you are interested in making a great first impression for yourself, you should give this process a try. There is no harm in trying, especially if you have never wri tten an essay before.

Laurels and What One Does With Them
Laurels and What One Does With Them Laurels and What One Does With Them Laurels and What One Does With Them By Maeve Maddox I heard a newscastersports I thinksay that someone was waiting on the laurels of someone. Sometimes I feel like an ancient Roman watching Latin turn into French. What did the newscaster mean? He had a vague recollection of having heard something about laurels and an -ing verb. The expression he was reaching for is resting on ones laurels. To rest upon ones laurels is to expend less effort, to give up striving for new victories, to rely on past success to cover up current failures. In classical times, winners of athletic contests and poetry slams were crowned with laurel wreaths because the laurel wreath was an attribute of the god Apollo, deity of music, poetry, and the arts. NOTE: art didnt mean the same to the ancients as it does in modern usage. For the Greeks, athletics belonged to the category of art. To the major arts, according to Cicero, belonged political and military arts; to the second class belonged purely intellectual arts, i.e., sciences, but also poetry and eloquence; to the third class belonged painting, sculpture, music, acting, athletics. Dictionary of the History of Ideas From this custom of crowning the best poets with a laurel wreath comes the term poet laureate, an official versifier appointed by a government to write poems for special occasions. Roman custom extended the use of the laurel wreath to crown victorious generals. During the Roman Republic, the second highest military honor was the Civic Crown, a wreath made of oak leaves. It was awarded to a Roman who had saved the life of fellow citizens by slaying an enemy on a spot not further held by the enemy that same day. Wikipedia The highest military honor was the Grass Crown, awarded to a general who broke a blockade around a threatened legion or army, saving it from annihilation. This one wasnt awarded too often. The association of oak leaves with military achievement survives to modern times. Certain miltary decorations make use of oakleaf clusters. Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Bipolar disorder
Bipolar disorder Bipolar disorder was previously known as manic depression as it causes moods to shift between mania and depression. It may also be classified as a biological brain disorder causing severe fluctuations in mood, energy, thinking and behaviour. This disorder results in frequent anxiety and low frustration level in the young people (CABF 2007). Depression, in this situation, means a situation where you feel very low while mania would refer to a situation where you feel very high (NHS 2009). Sometimes, symptoms of mania and depression can also occur simultaneously (CABF 2007). These episodes can last for several weeks or longer. ââ¬Å"The high and low phases of the illness are often so extreme that they interfere with everyday lifeâ⬠(NHS 2009). In bipolar disorder, the depression phase often comes first. One can be diagnosed with clinical depression before having a manic episode. The manic episodes usually take place after some time, after which the diagnosis might change. These e pisodes of depression may lead to overwhelming feelings of worthlessness, which often lead to thoughts of suicide. The manic phase may make you feel very creative and view mania as a positive experience. This is the time when you may also have symptoms of psychosis. During this phase you may feel very happy and have lots of ambitions, plans and ideas. Lack of sleep and appetite are other also common characteristics of bipolar disorder (NHS 2009). ââ¬Å"People with bipolar disorder fluctuate between intense depression and mania, interspersed by periods of relative calmâ⬠(Macnair 2008). The causes of bipolar disorder arenââ¬â¢t completely known, but are often hereditary. A cluster of factors both genetic and environmental, such as personal traumas or stress, can highly influence systems. The initial manic or depressive episodes of bipolar disorder usually take place early in the teenage years or early adulthood (Macnair 2008) At least half of all cases start before age 25 (K essler et al., 2005). The symptoms of the disorder can be fairly subtle and may result in being overlooked or misdiagnosed. This could result in unnecessary suffering while on the other hand, with proper treatment and support; a fulfilling life can be lived (Macnair 2008). In severe forms of mania, there are chances of a person becoming psychotic, with delusions. There is a conflict in perception and reality and there may be hallucinations and delusional beliefs about being persecuted. In some of the worst cases, people in mania become unintelligible and neglect themselves. The symptoms have varying patterns, frequencies and order. While in some case, where symptoms of mania are followed by symptoms of depression in a predictable pattern, some people have mixed symptoms ââ¬â itââ¬â¢s possible to have many of the symptoms of mania and also suffer from severely depressive thoughts (Bhugra and Flick, 2005). Although thereââ¬â¢s no cure for bipolar disorder, many people find t hat an understanding of their illness and what triggers episodes can help them live a relatively normal life Macnair 2008). Patients could monitor their moods and thoughts and ask someone they trust to help them cope with the disorder. But, sometimes some people have extreme mood swings that canââ¬â¢t be managed by monitoring alone. There may be a need for antidepressants, antipsychotic medication, drug lithium, which seem to stabilise mood swings. High level of lithium in blood can be poisonous while too little will have no effect. So, its important to be seen regularly by the mental health team and have the blood levels checked (Smith et al., 2009).

'In Defense of Food An Eater's Manifesto' By Michael Pollan Essay
'In Defense of Food An Eater's Manifesto' By Michael Pollan - Essay Example We are weak in a sense that we need to consult doctors and therapist to know what we must eat and follow the logo that processed food containers hold. We go by mob psychology without giving any judgment to what actually is the truth. Other animals and organisms do not have such requirements, they are capable of making a decision what they should eat and they eat what nature has offered them. Our story is different as we need a variety of different things to eat to stay fit and healthy. The author has thrown light upon the biased nature of human beings regarding what to eat, how much to eat and what sequence to follow. We have set certain parameters regarding with what a particular food item will go. This tendency came in picture because of a lot of variety has captured the market with guiding and misguiding food-labeling rules. Genetically modified food and all the variety of processed food has taken us away from our roots. What we are eating today is totally different from what our ancestors have eaten and most probably what our mothers have eaten. Food comes with various logos some are stating that they may protect against cancer but actually it has no such role. Some of the food items presented in the market are the result of vague kind of research that has been carried out in the market, for e.g. the genetically modified food are gaining much prominence these days. "Genetically Engineered" food is grown, manufactured, created, developed or changed by utilizing the techniques that brings changes in molecular or cell biology of an organism. This technique cannot be exploited in nature or under natural conditions. These techniques are mostly based on recombinant DNA technology, cell fusion, micro- and macroencapsulation, gene deletion or duplication, introduction of any gene from other organism through microinjection or by the process of transgenesis where the desired foreign gene is inserted in the early sates of development and also the techniques based on altering the position of the genes. The process does not include propagation, conjugation, fermentation, hybridization, in vitro fertilization and tissue culture method (Grubesic, 2005). These marketed food products are highly advertised in the TV, newspapers and magazines with big claims but according to the author the best food is what our grandmothers have eaten and recommends us. In the present era, in order to make maximum gains people are adopting unfair means to market the products by decorating them through packaging and variety of other methods to attract women and children. These processed food have no true food value and incorporate food additives for manufacturing, stuffing or in packaging, dispensation, preparing, treating, and packaging, food additives may also be used when long distance transporting is to be done or when the food item is to be kept for long duration. Now-a-days radiations are given to ensure the safety of food from chemicals. The food is labeled with the name of the company or firm or by any legal or commercial entity. If the research has provided us with the processed food items then research has also provided us the information about the repercussions of eating such products. The author has therefore recommended that if we eat modified food which claims to be rich in nutrition and possess
